Motul Revs Up India Growth with Exclusive New Production Line

Motul India plans to add a new manufacturing line through a dedicated manufacturing partner as the company prepares to support long-term growth in the Indian market.

Chief Executive Officer Nagendra Pai said the company expects annual growth of 10–15 per cent over the next four years and requires additional production capacity to address increasing demand.

Under the proposed arrangement, the new facility will operate exclusively for Motul India. The company will retain full control over raw material sourcing, pricing, and product formulations, while the manufacturing partner will focus on converting formulations into finished lubricant products.

India has now emerged as the largest global market for Motul by volume, leading the parent company to treat the country as a distinct strategic market within its global operations.

According to Nagendra Pai, the company has doubled its sales volumes over the past four years, with both revenue and volumes recording nearly 15 per cent compound annual growth since the Covid period, underscoring India’s growing role in the company’s global expansion strategy.
